14,000sf medical facility.

Status: Complete

This project is a thoughtful and transformative renovation of a 14,000-square-foot Planned Parenthood office and clinic in Oklahoma City. Located in the conservative Midwest, the facility stands as a crucial source of support in a region where access to healthcare services is severely restricted. The architectural design thoughtfully balances the use of durable, robust materials with the emotional needs of patients, creating a sanctuary of safety and privacy within a charged public sphere.

Despite working within a limited budget, with much of the funds allocated to meet stringent health and safety requirements, the project elevates the space through creative, cost-effective solutions. This renovation goes beyond functionality, symbolizing architecture’s potential to foster a more compassionate society by addressing both social and contextual challenges. The result is an environment that not only provides critical health services but also demonstrates how architecture can play a pivotal role in creating nurturing and supportive spaces, even in socially and politically complex landscapes.
